To decorate this cookie, first outline with a stiff royal icing colored in yellow or gold. Use a pastry bag fitted with a coupler and icing tip # 2. In a separate bowl, thin some icing to a flood consistency (similar to chocolate syrup) and fill in the inside of the cookie. Tilt cookie to fill corners or use icing spatula. Let cookie set, and then add wording, if desired. Change the tip on the bag to a # 3. Add decorative outline again around the edges of the cookie if needed. Allow icing to dry several hours or overnight.

For a light shimmer Luster dust can be brushed on dry, but to create the shiny gold star you must make a "paint" with gold luster dust and a liquid (not water). To make luster dust paint, carefully open luster dust bottle and tap a small amount (about 1/4 teaspoon) into a paint tray. Using lemon oil, white spirits (vodka) or vanilla extract, add a drop at a time of one of the liquids and mix together until you get the consistency you desire. Paint thinned luster dust over cookie and let dry.

Use pastry bag with #2 tip and apply a dot of icing to each corner of the star. Use tweezers or fingers and carefully apply dragees. Allow cookies to completely dry before stacking or bagging.
Decorate using same technique as above only with white icing and Super Pearl Luster dust.
